Текст для чтения:
Search-and-rescue dogs are trained to find missing people and save lives. These special dogs use their powerful sense of smell in their work. Every person has a unique scent, and search-and-rescue dogs are able to follow this smell, even in crowded areas. Just one trained search-and-rescue dog can do the work of ten trained human searchers! They can work in places where human sight is limited, such as dark areas, thick forests, and even underwater. The dogs know how to search in disaster sites, locate trapped people, and signal their trainers to show what they have found. These canine heroes must train to keep up their skills. They go through at least one year of training before they are ready to start work, and they usually live with their trainers. When their special skills are needed, these dogs ride in helicopters, boats and airplanes to rush to the scene of a rescue.
